Thats mostly so they can keep their own name that people know them by instead of having a different name each time you play with the same people. One of my favorite things is taking a normal word in English, Angel in my case, and finding the word in another language and using that as a base for my name. Angel = Angelus in german.

I then add something to do with the profession the caracter will be.

The final product looks like this.
Monk = Angelus The Sacred
Assassin = Angelus The Shadow

And so on.....

Now PvP, that where I have a little fun with my names

I have seen a few player names that kinda anoyed me.

Such as trying to invite a certain player with the name "llllll llllllll"

Mostly I just try to make my own names sound good, some are more original than others....

I have a mix of names, Neo Nugget is what I named my warrior, because that's what someone called me at school a few years ago, inside joke :P

A few are inspired by real world things, like,
my mesmer is Dancing Mad.

Ones i made up myself.

Ele: Shin Darkrunner
Necro: Zarbok Painseer
and a lot others.

Just made one named Companion Cube FTW

Some names I see are really funny, and creative.

Funny names (we don't have the same sense of humor but come on, you can detect when something will not be funny) are good.

Names like X I Uchiha Naruto I X or things like that are bad because it's illogic xD. If you are going to name your character after a movie/manga, at least follow the story and don't give him bad mix-matched names...

i generally don't dislike novelty names except the Xi iwantthatnametoo XX sort.

most of my chars have a firstname either thought of by myself or from a book-character i liked and a last name i thought of myself (combine random letters and see whether it sounds good)

hm... did you look that up in ancient german? because in contemporary german you'd translate angel with "Engel"

I got no problems with people who name their toons wierd names, especially since I don't know what the hell a naruto is.

All I know is that there is one name in GW that I covet, and every day before I log in, I check to see if that other person has stopped using it by trying to create a toon.

eh, the only thing that really annoys me with names is when they cant spell, or just changed the spelling so they could get the name that was already taken. Outside of that, I could really care less. Although in GvG, it makes it quite confusing when the other team goes for almost carbon copy names.

No, I like to see creative names, it is the hundred and one variations on Legolas that get me, or people who have a name like Grim Rreapper because Grim Reaper had already been taken.

I have a mix, some sound like a real name, some obviously not, though I don't have any funny ones. Don't think I could put the time into a character with a comedy name.

Get a little tired of being asked about my Sasori though; no it isn't anything to do with any Anime.

I know for a fact the first two are taken, and I've seen pretenders to the throne like Xx Austin Pohwers Xx.
